Puerto has been dealing with the seasonal influx of Sargassum for a few years now. They are doing a phenomenal job of keeping the beaches clean with a combination of barriers and clean-up crews. The picture in the attached article is from Playa del Carmen. Unfortunately, they are not taking the proactive approach that the National Marine Park and the Port Captain are taking.
